I am so behind this past month. I haven't even posted Avery's birthday party and now Christmas has come and gone and I haven't posted those either. Maybe I will find the time and energy soon to get back at it. I also have to post pictures of our flood!! Yes you read that right, we had a flood. Our pipes burst and oh what a mess it made!! It was mainly in the garage, praise the Lord, but it did get into Bailey's bedroom, the front bathroom, and the kitchen. Luckily there was no major damage, but right now I have furniture sitting all over my house. Matthew had to take all the furniture out of Bailey and Avery's room and have the carpets cleaned. We can't put the furniture back in until tomorrow. Avery's room got wet last year when we had pipes to burst. We just never got the carpet cleaned. Anyway right now Bailey's bed is in our bedroom along with our bed and Avery's toddler bed. We all slept in our bedroom last night and probably again tonight. I'm sure Bailey doesn't mind he would love to sleep in our room with us anyway. Maybe I will get some pictures on here soon. I just can't get motivated to do anything in this cold weather. I just want to curl up on the couch with a blanket and sleep!!

Avery is Turning Two!!

Yes it's true my baby will be 2 years old this Sunday. It is hard to believe it's been that long. Where has the time gone? I wish I had known how precious their baby stages are when Bailey was a baby. I think I was too young then to realize how fast he would grow up and I didn't cherish that time like I would have if I had known. I have enjoyed watching Avery grow and learn and develop his own personality. It is amazing how different kids can be. Bailey has always been more dependent on me and he likes to love on me and tell me how beautiful he thinks I am, but Avery likes to do everything his self. He loves to be outside and loves to help. And as much as I hate to admit it he is a "Daddy's Boy". If ever asked whose baby he is or who he loves he will always reply "Daddy". I am truly blessed to have two beautiful, smart, healthy children and I thank God for giving me the opportunity to be their Mother. Happy Birthday to my sweet Avery. Mommy, Daddy, and Bailey love you very much!!

All dressed up!!

My computer is finally working well enough to put some pictures on here. I know some of these are old and I apologize but just wanted you all to see how the boys are growing. We decided to get Avery a toddler bed and new covers for his birthday. The covers haven't arrived yet. This is his first day with the new bed. He did okay at first but

now he wants someone to stay in the room with him until he falls asleep.
As long as Matthew is working in his office he'll stay in bed, but if Matthew gets up he comes to find him. Nap time is tough in the new bed!! We haven't mastered that yet. The first night he slept in it I put him to bed and of course he kept getting up so I used my "Super Nanny" skills and just kept taking him back. The first few times he got up he just came and knocked on the bedroom door. Then after he figured that wasn't going to work he got so mad that in a few minutes I hear a strange sound behind the door and I open it to find Avery standing there spitting mad. Literally!! It took a lot to refrain from laughing. But he finally fell asleep.
I got the Christmas tree put up this weeked so it would be done when we come back from Nay Nay's. Only one more day and we are leaving. We are so excited!! Especially Bailey. He has been counting the days for two weeks. I have also been busy planning Avery's second b-day party. I can't believe he will be two. He has started talking so
much and he loves to help do everything. Every time we do something he says " I help". I can tell the terrible twos are coming on strong. He has such a little attitude lately. Well it's late and I am tired so hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. Enjoy the pictures.

Terrible Wife and Mother

I know how terrible I must seem to you all given the fact that I put pictures of cakes on my blog and not a single one of my kids. Not to mention the fact that it was Matthew's birthday and I didn' t even post anything about that. Actually I stayed home with Avery Monday Tuesday and Wednesday because the babysitter is on vacation. I had planned to post several new blogs and put some pictures of Matthew on there wishing him a happy birthday, but after I got the cake one posted it was time to pick Bailey up from school and when we got home I couldn't get the computer to come on. I tried everything to get it to work with no luck. So I just wanted to clarify that I am not a terrible wife and mother, just very illiterate when it comes to computer troubles. I do plan to post those pictures as soon as I get the free time ( and since Matthew fixed the computer).

Cakes and Bakes

This is a few of the latest cakes I have made. The first one is Bailey's bday cake. It is a volcano and an army camp. The muffins are made with the blueberries Mamaw and Papaw Overton grew. Avery helped make them. The chocolate covered strawberry cake was for my mom's bday. The last one is a first bday cake I did for someone I work with.

Just saying Hello

I haven't got any new pictures at work with me, but it has been so long since I have posted anything that I thought I would just touch base with everyone. There hasn't really been anything exciting going on around our place. We haven't been anywhere or gone on any adventures so in that aspect their isn't much to talk about. I have been getting everything together for Bailey to start back to school and for his birthday at the end of the month. We started toybowl football practice a week ago and they dressed out in their pads for the fist time this week. He is worried that he is going to weigh over the 80 lb limit and have to play on the line so he wants to exercise before they have the weigh in. I think he is enjoying it ( at least for now) so when football starts every Saturday we will rooting him on for the next several months. We have also started giving Bailey allowance and some chores to do. He has some he has to do every morning before he leaves the house and then more after he gets home. I have to say he has done very well getting up and getting his work done everyday. I am proud of him. The other day when I got in the shower I noticed he had mixed a whole can of shaving cream in with my brand new bottle of soap. I called him in there and asked him what it was and of course he denied it at first. When he finally admitted what he had done I told him he had to use his allowance (did I mention this is his first week of allowance) to buy me a new bottle of soap. He wasn't happy to find out all of his allowance would have to go toward something he didn't even use. He tried to get me to get the cheap off brand kind so he would have money left over but I told him he wasted the good brand and that is what I wanted it replaced with. I think he learned his lesson about wasting soap. Avery has started talking a lot and I just can't get enough of listening to him. His favorite thing to say is " I stuck". Especially when I am holding him and he wants down. He was witness to Copper (our dog) eating one of the chickens the other day and he said " he bad". Matthew was ready to dig a hole for Copper and Jake because they had a feast on chicken that day! We still have three puppies left so if ya'll know anyone interested in a puppy send them our way. We were worried about a month ago that I might lose my job. They laid off several people in our plant and offered a buy out to everyone in our office. We didn't no what might happen because things have slowed down so much, but they had a meeting and said there was enough people taking the buy out that they wouldn't have to lay anybody off. Praise the Lord!! Right now I think we are okay but if it continues to slow down we may face this again. Matthew's work has slowed down a lot. He has done pretty good up until the past month, but now we are seeing the effects of the economy on our family. He still has a few small projects going on but nothing big or long lasting. Just pray for both of us that our jobs will take a turn for the better. Better yet that prayer needs to be for the whole country!! I hope everyone is doing well and wish that we could spend more time together. But if not anytime soon then at least Thanksgiving and Christmas we will see everyone. I will try to get some pictures on here soon.
